A wonderful book, rich with stories and tools that can truly transform lives. The author writes engagingly and in an informal tone that belies just how deep much of this material goes, and he has clearly drawn from a lot of personal and professional experience to create this piece. The book allows for the fact that you might be familiar with a few of the earlier exercises (I was), and you can breeze past them if you like. But the organization of the book is such that it builds synergistically towards a conclusion that ties things together very nicely. There's even a final tool that shows you how to work through the processes you've learned and practiced in the course of the book. I am really impressed by the author's energy and the way he's turned this book into a multilayered tool for developing leadership--and that's in the sense that true leadership starts with leading yourself; that is, being in charge of (and compassionate with) yourself, your reactions, the way you treat yourself and others, and the way you live your life. This book has revealed many new things to me, and I believe it will be very helpful to further develop my leadership skills.

Great value in this book. Can't get through the second reading and exercises. Writing the exercises is a must. I am still working the first part.
I'm really appreciative of Mr. Anderson's journey. He has come full circle to transcend the light speed life for that of intent and purpose. I've read it through and through. Now I am excited to go back and complete the exercises.
There are many books on leadership out there, but Michael's Soul Centered Leadership is one of the best books I've read in the recent years. Since Michael's own experience is impressive and his personal journey is riddled with over-coming one's obstacles, he clearly communicates with every page how to become a better person and steps you need to take to become a genuine leader! No matter what your profession is, becoming a soul centered leader helps you become the better version of yourself instantly.
I just started reading this book and am impressed with the authenticity in which the writer conveys his message. This book is for anyone and everyone with a deep desire to improve their life on all levels. We are all leaders, whether it be in business, with our families or ourselves, and this book will give you the tools and practical exercises to create lasting changes to then lead...and live, from a deeper, more meaningful place. The author writes from his own personal experiences and shares with the reader the same tools and exercises that have worked for him. This book is for everyone who wants to elevate themselves and connect to the world at large in a more honest and soulful way. I look forward to reading many more books from R. Michael Anderson.
This book emphasizes how to craft and nurture the most important relationship person can have in life – relationship with oneself. Many times we are focused on how others perceive us that we forget how we perceive ourselves. But the most valuable thing we can give ourselves is self-acceptance, love and compassion toward the way how we as individuals behave and respond to everyday situations. This book is teaching right that. By using ARC system (Awareness-Response-Compassion) person gets simple yet so powerful tool how to perceive different aspects of his/her personality while in the same moment defining different strategies which will lead toward coming into the place of Authentic Self- part of our consciousness from which we act from pure love. Writing style is warm and compassionate as the main topic of the book. The author gives numerous personal examples which show how he applies tools from the book in real life. This concept builds trust and credibility with the reader because the author is not scared to show his vulnerability.
After every chapter reader has the chance to immediately apply tools in to real life by filling out exercises that are listed. As a person who wants to actively work on my personal development, it is highly important to apply gained knowledge NOW. Not LATER. Therefore, I strongly recommend reading this book to everybody who wants to grow personally and professionally because it brings in one place all tools which will ever need you for personal growth. After reading the book, I had that aha moment when you realize that gained knowledge, if applied properly, can transform my life just by triggering me to be aware of relationship toward myself. When I have started to use tools from the book, people started to notice significant change and improvement in my communication, stress management and emotional intelligence. For a person who works with people on daily bases this was really useful and valuable.
Something that misses is mentioning neuroscience and ways how the brain is affected by applying tools of Soul-Centered Leadership. Brain controls and directs our physical and mental state so, in my opinion, it would be of great use for the reader to see how his/her brain structures and connections change by using tools from this book.
Nevertheless, this book is MUST read because it is one and the only toolbox you will ever need for your personal and professional growth. It will give you access to such powerful tools which have true strength to change the ways how YOU perceive YOURSELF. At the end of the day, YOU are the creator of YOUR own destiny and success in life. Wouldn`t it be amazing to have the ability to use all your deepest potentials to achieve your goals while having the support of like-minded people?
